Hey, everyone welcome. It is the last episode of the marketing moms podcast and it's super bittersweet. We're going to talk about our decision. We're going to hear some from you all our wonderful community who we couldn't have done this without and more so Angela has titled so long and thanks for all the fish. Whatever the heck that means.
00:28.90
Angela
I wasn't sure if you'd get that reference somebody will somebody out there listening is going to get that. Ah.
00:35.23
jessievalle
So in that case, we're going to find out what that is and um I mean I have an idea but I could be off base. But anyway here we go.
00:42.97
Angela
Okay.
01:17.30
jessievalle
All right? Angela what does thanks for all the fish mean.
01:23.57
Angela
Okay, so because this probably won't end up being our official title I will explain. Um, it's from the book. It's from the book Series hitchhikers guide to the galaxy and.
01:30.80
jessievalle
That's true. Oh well, then no I had no clue.
01:37.19
Angela
It's mentioned in the first book. It's and it's the title of the fourth book in the series but in the very beginning of the first book the Earth ends up getting destroyed to make like an interstellar highway. But right before the Earth gets destroyed all of the dolphins disappear and leave a message that when is translated. Says so long and thanks for all the fish.
02:00.82
jessievalle
That makes me look at dolphins in a whole new light. What.
02:08.36
jessievalle
Ah, ah, that's why they're so intelligent. Ah.
02:09.72
Angela
Ah, um, so it's the it is a very very geeky reference but Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy was very popular when I was young and they made a movie about it So somebody is going to get it.
02:21.70
jessievalle
That that's awesome to buy I Love it I mean I always thought I was a geek but apparently I'm not geeky enough I mean I've heard of the book. But I have not read it.
02:23.50
Angela
But yes so long a things for all the fish is like a geeky way of saying goodbye.
02:33.36
Angela
Oh I love it. It's amazing.
02:37.20
jessievalle
I don't I mean maybe it's because I don't read a lot of sci-fi so.
02:41.29
Angela
Yeah, that's fair I'm not a big sci-fi fan either. But it's It's very funny in the way that it's written. So.
02:49.23
jessievalle
Cool.
02:55.26
jessievalle
Um, big, sigh. So I just don't know how to start this conversation I mean I know but it's hard so last night even my sister was asking.
02:55.32
Angela
Yeah, yeah.
03:13.67
jessievalle
So what are you going to talk about on your last episode and I was like I don't know Angela and I are just kind of kind of going to kind of let it flow and and that's because we wanted this episode to be very heartfelt and straight off the cuff and let's be honest after 150 episodes
03:21.55
Angela
Um, yeah.
03:31.33
jessievalle
I think Angela and I have gotten pretty good about just having a conversation with each other on air I mean the truth is is that for oh goodness basically at least half the episodes I don't even know when we started using this program. But.
03:34.41
Angela
Um, we're pretty get it conating? yeah.
03:49.48
jessievalle
We haven't edited our episodes I or like in a long time. Probably a hundred episodes. The first few I remember it was a long process we would record and then we would edit and we would have a lot of mistakes to cut out and now we just hit record free flow.
03:53.74
Angela
Um, in a long time. Yeah.
04:08.68
jessievalle
Hit stop and boom like put it up an hour later ah so we have definitely gotten a lot better at I don't know podcasting I guess that's funny.
04:22.39
Angela
Yeah, just po pink that I remember looking at the transcripts of the first few episodes that were just full of us and arms and big long minute long pauses and.
04:37.14
jessievalle
Oh yeah, because I remember we we used to just pause and then just like let it sit because I know that's what I needed to cut out. Ah.
04:39.10
Angela
Um, yes, but yeah since we got this. It's been very just kind of free Flow. We haven't worried about it so much we've gotten better about pauses and us and Ums and. You know, losing our words and with.
04:59.92
jessievalle
And I think also being okay with the fact that we don't have to be perfect. We don't have to say the perfect thing.
05:04.72
Angela
Yes, that was a big thing too.
05:11.35
jessievalle
But but not just that being able to riff back and forth because I know that I mean don't get me wrong. We still talk over each other a little but not as bad as it was in the beginning.
05:16.88
Angela
Over.
05:25.13
Angela
No, no, we're better about it Much better about it now giving each other time to finish our sentences.
05:38.83
jessievalle
So a lot of you are asking why and I actually as soon as we started posting that we were going to be ending I got several messages um on different platforms like people were coming out of the woodwork to to say what? why and they were shocked.
05:53.55
Angela
Yeah, yeah.
05:56.75
jessievalle
And the truth is Angela and I had to sit back and think what this podcast is where it was going where we are in our own lives. And what we could dedicate to the podcast and ultimately we decided it was time.
06:23.16
Angela
Yes, and it's partly my fault I'll take the blame a little bit for it. Ah.
06:25.99
jessievalle
You can but I am so stinking proud of you.
06:32.00
Angela
Um, so I got the opportunity I got a really big scholarship and got the opportunity to take some classes and get some really important certifications in the cybersecurity industry and it is.
06:50.40
Angela
Ah, ridiculous opportunity. But it is very very fast paced. It is you know what should be months and months of study within like less than three months to take these so it's very intensive. It's very fast paced. It's very exciting. Ah, but it does take up just an absolute ton of time and so once that was kind of taken out of my schedule and and combined with some other things that Jesse and I had going on it just became a bit too much to. Continue on with the podcast as well.
07:25.50
jessievalle
I mean I know we could have continued on with the podcast but we would not have given any effort into growing or putting any extra effort.
07:29.54
Angela
The. Right.
07:40.44
jessievalle
Other than the bare minimum and Angela and I are not bare minimum type people if we can't do something to the absolute best of our abilities and beyond. We don't want to do it and that's kind of where we ended it was like you know what? this podcast has been amazing, but everything has. It's space and time and for us this time in our lives has come to a close because we are ready to take that time that we prioritized here on the podcast to put towards other things that weren't a part of our lives three years ago
08:14.26
Angela
Right? Yes, it's less the actual even recording time so much as all of the peripherals that go into making a podcast that you don't really.
08:25.34
jessievalle
Ah.
08:31.12
jessievalle
Yeah.
08:32.28
Angela
Think about before you start making a podcast but you know Jesse mentioned earlier. There was the editing publishing making soundb bites making social media posts focusing on growth things like that that take up a lot of extra time outside of just the. 30 or 45 minutes a week that we put out on the podcast.
08:52.96
jessievalle
Right? Yeah, it yeah, it's a lot bigger than a lot of people realize especially when you're just doing it yourself now I think that after 3 years we've definitely cut down on the time because we've got it more into a science.
09:01.30
Angela
Um, yeah.
09:09.45
Angela
Um, yeah.
09:11.28
jessievalle
But that took us a lot of time I I think that I'm most proud of us that we stuck it out every single week. We've never missed a week for one hundred and fifty weeks in a row and.
09:20.70
Angela
Ah, right.
09:28.96
jessievalle
A lot of people will quit after like 20 episodes.
09:30.43
Angela
Right? Yeah, we did every single week. There were a couple weeks that we came out like it a half hour late I think there was one week Jesse scheduled it to come out on a Thursday instead of a Wednesday because I remember getting a panicked message from for of Jesse.
09:49.40
jessievalle
Ah, yeah, but that doesn't count because we had the episode recorded.
09:50.23
Angela
But other but no, we had the episode it was ready. It just got scheduled for the wrong day and it it did come out every single week. We have put out a podcast episode for one hundred and fifty weeks and that is very impressive.
09:58.10
jessievalle
If the.
10:06.75
jessievalle
And not only that we wrote a book. Yeah I mean in and that and of ah in and of itself. Um I feel like I gained a lot of experience from this as well. So.
10:08.14
Angela
We wrote a book. We did write a book which was.
10:21.15
Angela
Right? yeah.
10:24.31
jessievalle
Also this did come at a good time because I don't know if you guys remember but back gosh it had to have been like August or September I decided to file to trademark marketing moms and just this last week. We got the notification that it was denied for various reasons.
10:35.26
Angela
Her.
10:44.12
jessievalle
Probably botched the application who knows but the truth of the matter is is I learned from that experience and yes I could turn around and fight that but since we're ending the podcast I'm not I'm going to let it go but it was interesting to have that.
10:50.70
Angela
Yeah.
10:57.36
Angela
It's not really any point. Yeah.
11:02.64
jessievalle
Experience Also in my life because without this podcast when would I have ever had that experience.
11:06.86
Angela
Right? Yeah, writing the book was an experience publishing the book was an experience going through you know publish self publishing was a whole new thing.
11:15.47
jessievalle
Um, yep.
11:21.99
jessievalle
I Think it helped us realize that we could do more than we thought we could.
11:29.25
Angela
Um, yeah yeah I would never have imagined publishing a book having a 3 year podcast all of those things is just baffling.
11:40.60
jessievalle
Um.
11:46.46
Angela
Creating a planner. We made a planner that was another thing we did. Yeah so lots of new experiences and we made 150 episodes we came up with a hundred and fifty things to talk about.
11:48.28
jessievalle
Oh yeah, we made the planner that was really cool and of course we made 150 episodes ah
12:02.30
jessievalle
Um, yeah, that's that's awesome. So yes, you know we're it's bittersweet because we love this podcast but at the same time since our decision we have no regrets.
12:19.84
Angela
Yeah, yeah.
12:21.49
jessievalle
We know in our hearts This is the right move so we want to just thank you all so much for your support for listening for participating because obviously we couldn't have done this without you like it. It has been really nice knowing that we're talking to someone and we couldn't have done that without all of you.
12:44.83
Angela
Yeah,, that's been.. It's been a ride to make something and know that there are people out there that are listening to it and taking away things from it and growing and learning from it and enjoying it has been.. It's been a really. Really good ride.
13:05.25
jessievalle
Yeah, for sure. Okay, so let's jump into some of the comments we received from you all our fans. Ah.
13:16.18
Angela
And.
13:21.75
jessievalle
Ah, ah, we we asked if anyone wanted to send us well wishes or last comments questions favorite episodes anything because we wanted to hear from you all as well because we wanted this last episode for you to be a part of it as much as we are.
13:30.10
Angela
Yep.
13:39.98
jessievalle
So um, let's see this first one says you know this was kind of a response to us ending Really I know you have your reasons and I trust.
13:48.74
Angela
Um, yeah, are.
13:57.33
jessievalle
That everyone is making choices for their best interest to benefit their past present and future selves. But I truly am sorry to see this coming to an end I Absolutely enjoyed being a featured guest and marketing Moss Podcast will forever hold a special place in my heart. Yeah now this particular person Also. Would tag us and promote our stuff and so ah and I know that she got a lot of use out of the book and that makes me feel good right? Like I've had a couple people say that there are little golden nuggets in the book and that right there makes it all worth it.
14:17.45
Angela
Her. Yes.
14:28.45
Angela
Yes.
14:34.45
Angela
Absolutely.
14:36.48
jessievalle
I think that a lot of times you put out things like our podcast episodes or the book or whatever and you're like does anybody care is anybody going to get anything out of this and I feel like we've touched at least 1 person for each the book the podcast we've touched at least in person mission accomplice.
14:44.68
Angela
Um, yeah, yes, yeah.
14:54.46
jessievalle
Accomplished.
14:55.98
Angela
Ah, yeah, so our next comment says marketing mom's podcast has served a great purpose for so many women who are working mothers. This podcast has helped remind me first of all that I'm not crazy. Life is secondly I know I'm not alone on an island by myself. There is community among commonality I take deep encouragement from that. Thank you Angela and Jessie for dedicating so much of your time and energy to benefit this sisterhood.
15:24.11
jessievalle
Yeah I thought that was really sweet and honestly her comments stuck with me because there was something else happening later that day when we first got it and I said okay I'm not crazy life is but.
15:37.63
Angela
I face. Yes I That was really got me to I was like yeah, that's that's basically it.
15:46.31
jessievalle
And I I like that we've been able to not only have conversations with each other and give but you all our community has been able to give back to us as well because I think that that's 1 thing Angela and I have openly done is say.
15:57.60
Angela
Yes.
16:05.73
Angela
I hear.
16:06.10
jessievalle
We're not perfect. We're learning and we're not. You know we never jumped on this podcast to say this is the way you have to do something we are experts or over here like we're struggling to. We're just trying to figure out here's what we've learned.
16:13.37
Angela
This is exactly the way to do it. Um.
16:18.14
Angela
Yeah, exactly.
16:21.98
jessievalle
Okay, the next one having to choose 1 favorite episode is a hard one. But if I had to choose one. It would be my favorite episode Twenty four five gift giving tips. I do keep myself busy and loved getting ideas on how I can give ah gift give in a more thoughtful slash organized way. There are other episodes I enjoyed as well I will miss listening to you too. Best wishes on your future endeavors. From a mama of 7 and 1 of your biggest fans. Yeah.
16:58.96
Angela
That was sweet I liked that episode that was a fun episode.
17:04.85
jessievalle
Yeah, yeah for sure just I kind of pride myself in trying to give thoughtful gifts and so that was a really fun one to be like here's what I've learned about gift giving slash listen to this so that you can give me good gifts. Ah.
17:12.15
Angela
Um, yes.
17:22.81
Angela
Ah, here's how to give me gifts.
17:32.12
jessievalle
Ah, and our last comment here was from our marketing dad.
17:33.50
Angela
Oh goodness all right? So our dad Yes I was going to say our last comments not from a marketing mom. Um, but it says the podcast was super helpful. Not only for not only my wife but also for myself. Have enjoyed the conversations you've had on this show and then the book was also full of Hidden gems chapter 2 of the book which is something you've spoken on you talk about how you don't need all the nicest equipment to run a business. You mentioned that people said you couldn't run a business with a chromebook and you proved them wrong that was super simple yet. Super powerful because people relate to that more I think than we realize yeah.
18:15.44
jessievalle
Yeah I you know if I had to wrap up like if there are 5 things that you could take away from this podcast. One of them would be that you can run a business from a Chromebook.
18:24.26
Angela
Um, yeah, yes, that's one of them. Yes, you can run a business from a Chromebook. Yeah years and years ah a web development business from a chromebook no less. So.
18:34.43
jessievalle
Because Angela did it for years.
18:40.44
jessievalle
Um, yeah at that. But.
18:44.26
Angela
Ah, so you definitely can. You don't need all the fanciest equipment to to run your business.
18:47.57
jessievalle
Yeah I Just think that that's an excuse that people have that have held them back. But also I think when you're ready to do something in this case start a business. It's really helpful to find people that have.
19:02.43
Angela
Ah, her.
19:06.54
jessievalle
Done it and have experience and can give you tips and so for us to come out and say you can run a business on a chromebook I think that that was really helpful for a lot of people because maybe that is something that was holding them back like a limiting belief saying.
19:08.13
Angela
Yes.
19:13.43
Angela
Er no.
19:23.88
jessievalle
Can't do this I Just don't have enough money for a computer.
19:27.10
Angela
Yep, yeah, you don't need all the fancy things.
19:28.47
jessievalle
Yeah, you don't need all the bells and whistles.
19:38.63
jessievalle
I Tried thinking about what my favorite episode was and I can't I just can't I can talk about I mean obviously because it's it's like ah.
19:45.55
Angela
A.
19:55.44
Angela
Yes, yes, you can't choose just one. Yes.
19:55.53
jessievalle
It's like the podcast. Ah there were my hundred and fifty children and I can't choose 1 I like more than the others I will say though that the episodes that surprised me the most were the ones that I went in thinking I'm not sure. Have a lot to say on this and then leaning on you to lead the conversation and then I realized oh maybe I did have more to say on it than I thought.
20:21.33
Angela
Right? Yeah, those were the funnest to make where we would start and go I don't know this is gonna be like a really short episode like if we can get 10 minutes out of it like I think that'll be good and then.
20:37.89
jessievalle
38 minutes later ah
20:38.24
Angela
We hit stop coordinates. Yes 42 minutes later we're like oh we did have something to say I don't think I have a specific favorite episode I've definitely had favorite things that we've talked about. I've really enjoyed talking about taking time off as a business owner because I know that comes up a lot and we get asked about that I've enjoyed talking about um are like our favorite tech things and.
20:53.60
jessievalle
Um.
21:10.20
jessievalle
Ah.
21:11.14
Angela
Different things that we do around the house to kind of help incorporate our kids into the business and also to help make sure that we're setting good boundaries with our family and our our clients those have been some of my favorite things to talk about and recurring through a lot of the podcasts.
21:25.65
jessievalle
Yeah I think some of my favorites were the ones that we talked about emotions and mindset because we openly admit that we're not the greatest at that We have our own limiting Beliefs. And our own struggles and we were just we did those episodes more for us right? Like here are top tips that we need to give ourselves. Let's give ourselves a Pep talk and oh you're just listening in on the conversation. Um I liked those because again. I Felt like the amount of times in anything. We talked about that we said this is not the way. It's just a way and the best ways the way that works best for you to me I don't know.
22:12.57
Angela
Um, ah her.
22:16.44
Angela
Yeah.
22:22.25
jessievalle
Just enjoyed being able to feel like we're more of a part of a community instead of just this is the way follow me because Angela and I have never been that way.
22:27.48
Angela
Yeah.
22:33.90
Angela
No, no, we've never been our way or the highway kind of podcasters.
22:41.38
jessievalle
Um.
22:48.36
Angela
1 thing I will miss and I'm sure Jesse will not miss. Um, if my animals popping up into the conversation.
22:49.55
jessievalle
If.
22:58.82
Angela
We have. We tried the first few episodes to kind of cut out and I'm getting better with the mute button especially with the dogs. Um, but we tried the first few episodes to cut out all of the craziness that goes on in my house. And then I think it was like episode 10 or eleven we were finally like you know what we're just going to leave it. It's that's just how it is yeah that there's craziness. Yep yeah, exactly so kids cats dogs animals people coming to the door. It's just.
23:16.52
jessievalle
Like this is who we are Angela's office is in the middle of her living room deal with it.
23:27.11
jessievalle
If. Well and we don't have to apologize for who we are if you don't like it done listen it was simple.
23:31.83
Angela
Insanity here and and we just left it right. Yeah, and in case anyone wonders. Yes, they do also do that when I'm on calls with clients and I have had several clients comment on how adorable my animals are so you know there's that I guess.
23:44.57
jessievalle
This.
23:50.40
jessievalle
Well I'm just waiting if there's not an episode with your husband blowing his nose at least once I mean what? what is life.
23:58.80
Angela
Right? What is it? Ah yes, exactly.
24:06.43
jessievalle
Ah, yeah I Yeah I can't speak to that because I have an office kind of away from everybody. But yeah I mean we we've talked about.
24:18.71
Angela
Now.
24:25.80
jessievalle
In episodes saying not to try and hide who you are and that your clients and people who will work with you will respect the fact of what you're going through and I think especially now that there's a lot of people working.
24:26.24
Angela
Um, other.
24:33.58
Angela
Yeah.
24:43.10
Angela
Yeah.
24:43.26
jessievalle
Remotely life happening is just a part of that you you know going through the pandemic and and just seeing things go viral about like you remember that one where. The kid comes in and then the mom pulls the kid out and it's like that doesn't happen anymore because it's like up my kids here. Okay go away sweetie like no big deal exactly and I think that we've been able to admit.
25:00.50
Angela
Oh yeah, yes. Yeah, yeah, nobody's trying to pretend like their kid's not in the room with them.
25:19.00
jessievalle
That while work and home life people have tried to keep it separate for ages and I understand the whole work life balance. But at the end of the day. It's the whole thing is your life. So embrace it together.
25:32.11
Angela
Um, yeah yeah I think that's been kind of the 1 main theme throughout all the episodes is that like it's there's not really a.
25:50.77
jessievalle
Who.
25:50.88
Angela
Balance There is a balance but it's not the way people. It's not a. It's not like a seesaw. Yeah yeah, you're never going to get equal business equal life and everything's perfect and.
25:58.86
jessievalle
It's constantly moving. There's never like a point where it's just like done.
26:10.80
Angela
Running smoothly. There's always going to be something throwing something off something that needs a little more of your attention something that's getting a little less of your attention. But I think when you focus so much on you know oh this is.
26:18.80
jessievalle
Yeah.
26:28.41
Angela
My work and then this is my life you forget that if you still have to live that part of your life that you're working like it's not like it's not, You're not pushing pause on your time on on this earth by working.
26:36.71
jessievalle
Yeah.
26:47.67
Angela
You still have to use that up and so I think it's easy to forget that when especially even when you're working remotely, especially when you're working remotely because it feels like everything bleeds over and you know oh I can just sit down and do this thing real quick and you know it'll be okay, but it's important to make sure that you're. Carving out time specifically for work and specifically for your family so that they get your undivided attention the way they deserve.
27:14.34
jessievalle
Yeah I like that.
27:23.67
jessievalle
I I didn't know when we hit start if this was going to be like a normal episode or if it was going to be like a 3 hour episode but that's kind of where I'm feeling I'm like I'm not ready to say goodbye. But i.
27:25.16
Angela
Um, yeah.
27:33.70
Angela
Um, yeah.
27:42.20
jessievalle
Don't know if I have anything else to say so what's next? what's next for you. Angela.
27:42.53
Angela
Yeah.
27:51.80
Angela
Ah, working on those certifications maybe getting a job. Not sure still enjoying my business still enjoying my clients hoping to hang on to those or even pivot and use. You know my business with the cybersecurity certifications to work. As a contractor and a freelancer still but mostly that enjoying my kids summer's coming up so that's gonna be They're gonna be home. They're be wanting to do stuff and go places and that's always ah, an interesting balance to play when you're. Working from home to try and keep your kids entertained and get stuff done.
28:30.81
jessievalle
Um, yeah for me still meeting with you in the mornings at least twice a week Angela and I have agreed that while we're not meeting to hit record.
28:34.23
Angela
And what about you. Oh definitely. Yes.
28:49.99
jessievalle
We are still meeting. We are not going to let we're not going to let our friendship be the podcast and it never has been the podcast has just kind of been you know, fun to do together. Yeah and I kiss you not how many episodes we would jump on and be like.
28:55.25
Angela
Right.
29:09.58
jessievalle
You're never gonna believe what happened yesterday did it did it and then it's like hold up hold up, let me hit record and then tell me the whole story. Ah so it's like a lot of times we were just hopping on to talk about what we were already gonna talk about. We just recorded it so that you all could enjoy the story as well. Um, so there's that.
29:10.79
Angela
Yeah, yes.
29:20.85
Angela
Yeah.
29:29.73
jessievalle
There's there are other things in my life that I want to prioritize and I'm ready to prioritize things like my health maybe being more active and. That's how I'm choosing to pivot my podcast time like time that I was going to spend doing all those peripheral things that Angela talked about for the podcast I want to take those and turn them into something else in my life.
29:50.97
Angela
And have.
30:04.54
jessievalle
And trying really hard not to turn it into another side hustle but ah because I was like wait a minute if I'm not making money with my time. What am I doing and that's again, a personal issue that I have to be like wait a minute I don't have to be so productive. Okay.
30:06.99
Angela
Um, yeah, yeah.
30:23.69
jessievalle
Side story so I have been loving. Um, there's this hg tv show. Um gosh no I'm not going to remember it is it the fixer to fabulous anyway, it's this husband and wife. And they renovate homes and stuff and they get this opportunity to go renovate an old italian villa in italy for some friends and part of it. They hit this point where they're like ok well we only have a couple days left and then. Everybody's taking off the whole month of August and it's like wait what the whole country shuts down for on an entire month like everybody and they're like yeah and then that's like we're moving to italy like.
31:05.94
Angela
Ah, the whole thing.
31:11.19
Angela
Wow right.
31:16.88
jessievalle
It made me realize that it is so hard. It's this american culture of go go go and if you are not productive like what society deems productive with your time one hundred and fifty percent then it's a waste.
31:20.33
Angela
Yeah. Right? right.
31:32.84
jessievalle
And actually I was driving home yesterday from visiting with my sister and even though it was ah seriously I like 5 minutes away from my sister in those 5 minutes I felt like I was wasting my time because I was driving home I'm not learning I'm not.
31:47.43
Angela
Bright like I could be doing something else. Yeah.
31:51.38
jessievalle
You know doing I'm not doing something productive and I was like that's ridiculous. So I will be the first to admit that I still have a lot. Ah you know a long way to go on my own mental. Just.
32:04.12
Angela
Yeah.
32:09.11
jessievalle
Yeah, life lessons and working on myself and figuring out what I want to do and who I want to be and how I want to spend my time on this earth and that doing things for myself.
32:11.63
Angela
Yes.
32:21.60
Angela
Yeah, this is.
32:27.98
jessievalle
Is not a waste of time.
32:30.55
Angela
Right? Exactly I will say I was having a hard time with the podcast coming to an end and feeling like I should be able to fit everything in you know, um, but it I.
32:40.36
jessievalle
M.
32:47.29
Angela
Had at the time of our recording a few days ago was the solar eclipse which I'm sure most of you are aware of if you are anywhere in the United States or near the United States because it was big news. Um.
33:01.30
jessievalle
Yeah.
33:06.36
Angela
And we were in the path of totality and I was the morning of the eclipse we went over to my in-laws and I was hemming and hawing over whether or not I should take my computer to try and do some work before and after and like cram some stuff in while I was like at my in-law. My. My brother-in-law came in from South Dakota and I was like maybe I should take my computer and do some work like um, which I did end up taking my computer I did not work. Um, my very smart husband was like just bring it and then you'll have it if you want it and if you get to you know.
33:28.70
jessievalle
M.
33:43.32
Angela
Finally relaxed or whatever then you can but we went out and got to see you know totality which was a first for me I've never seen a total solar coats but watching my kids watch that and just having a moment where I was like I am so glad. That we can be together and I can spend this time with them and I am not stuck at work like I know there were some people that were stuck at work. My husband actually had to work but he took his computer over there to work so he was doing the bounce back and forth. But.
34:11.90
jessievalle
M.
34:16.19
Angela
Did get to enjoy it with us and I was really grateful that we all got to see that and it reminded me that it's okay to slow down for a minute It's okay to have a little bit of free space in your schedule. It's okay to. Give yourself the opportunity to experience new things I know Jesse and I have both recently picked up relatively new hobbies as a way I think partly of just keeping ourselves sane with and giving ourselves some something we can use to kind of relax with.
34:44.80
jessievalle
Yeah.
34:51.13
Angela
But yeah, it's okay to take the time to do those things and you don't have to be productive twenty four seven to have a worthwhile life I think was ah a big thing that I realized just a few days ago which has helped a little bit coming up to. The end of the podcast and recording this final episode.
35:11.94
jessievalle
Yeah, that just because we're not producing something that the world can listen to doesn't mean we're not being productive with our lives. Yeah, so I haven't like gone over all of this with Angela yet. But.
35:19.91
Angela
Um, yeah, yeah.
35:30.90
Angela
Oh okay.
35:30.96
jessievalle
I and soon to do it on air. So I was thinking about how um I don't know if we're going to continue to host the podcast on Apple and all those other things but we can certainly continue to post everything on Youtube.
35:41.88
Angela
Of the.
35:49.00
Angela
Yes, yeah.
35:50.51
jessievalle
And have it live there forever so that if anyone ever goes to marketing mom's podcast dot com then then it would forward to Youtube um, and then of course the book is still on Amazon so we would just forward marketingmomsbook.com
35:56.39
Angela
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
36:07.80
Angela
To Amazon. Yeah.
36:08.69
jessievalle
Over to Amazon and so I mean there's still going to be ways that our legacy can live on. Ah, even if it's not in the same way that it has been so if there's anything that you want to come back in reference or anything like.
36:14.31
Angela
Yes.
36:28.21
jessievalle
Can do it I mean we're not also looking to shut down Instagram at any time soon I don't think we're going to be posting anymore. But you can certainly go there and and we'll get the message.
36:32.40
Angela
Right? right.
36:42.58
Angela
Yes.
36:45.42
jessievalle
But if you do want to reach us individually Angela how can people reach you.
36:54.67
Angela
Ah, well probably Instagram is the easiest at this point and that's at technical geekery and you can just send a Dm and I'll I'll get it. It might take me a day to respond because generally I see those messages and go.
36:56.30
jessievalle
Now.
37:12.51
Angela
I don't want to open that because it's always something weird. Ah spam. So so if I don't answer back in a couple hours it's not because I'm not. It's not because I'm ignoring you I just am gathering up the courage to open the message.
37:15.87
jessievalle
Spam. Ah.
37:28.74
jessievalle
Ah, yeah, and then for myself. Yeah, Instagram's probably the best because if I hop on social media instagram's usually it and I am at Jesse M via and I'm kind of like Angela like 1 thing. I felt like with this podcast is that I wanted to continue to have a presence online and everything for you all but the truth is is I don't like social media and if I check it once a week we'll be lucky. So.
37:50.25
Angela
Yeah.
38:02.60
jessievalle
I mean I'll get the notification if someone messages me but honestly I am looking forward to not having to jump on social media all the time. So there there are Silver linings to this as well.
38:11.57
Angela
Yeah, um I Yes, that's nice I am on social media but I don't post very often I mostly just lurk and look at other people's things.
38:23.16
jessievalle
Yeah, that's fair.
38:23.39
Angela
More than I post I'm gonna try to be better on my own Instagram but I'm not going add like every year I'm like this is the year I'm going to be on social media and then it's like July and I still haven't posted anything.
38:39.73
jessievalle
Ah, yeah, so it is I would say at the end of the day we're still living some pretty worthwhile lives. Ah so well. Thank you Angela for doing this with me that came from.
38:44.53
Angela
Absolutely yeah.
38:56.99
jessievalle
A little idea of hey I want to start a podcast Angela do this with me or it wasn't even a podcast it was I Want to start something.
39:02.40
Angela
Thank you for including me. No I want to start something. Do you want to do a Youtube show or a podcast and I was like absolutely not on the video.
39:10.26
jessievalle
I know.
39:17.40
jessievalle
Um, like I was all ready to start a Youtube channel like let's do this and you're like yeah no I will not do it with you if we have to show our faces all the time which ended up being the perfect decision because for us.
39:18.20
Angela
You know.
39:33.69
jessievalle
Recording early in the morning was best and it it really worked out that we didn't have to do our hair and our makeup and all the things you know we showed up in our pajamas and bathrobes a lot of the time like it was totally fine because with audio only it doesn't matter.
39:37.92
Angela
Um, ah.
39:52.65
Angela
Yes, exactly we each other.
39:54.16
jessievalle
Ah, now for the record we can see each other So I think that's another thing that helps our conversation flow is we can see each other. But yeah, it worked out.
40:07.63
Angela
Yeah, it did. Yeah so we are going to miss everyone. Um, we will have obviously when this comes out there will be an Instagram post up for it. So if you have any thing that you would like to share with us. Or comments on favorite episodes or anything like that please feel free to comment on that. We'd love to see them feel free to Dms anytime if you you know have questions or if you are listening if you have found this podcast in like 10 years
40:44.35
jessievalle
Ah.
40:44.58
Angela
And you you have questions you can Dm us and say hey on this episode and we will yeah help please help me. Ah.
40:49.35
jessievalle
You said this please elaborate. But yeah, just because we're not going to be recording weekly doesn't mean that we're not here to support the sisterhood as one of our listeners mentioned. You know it's.
41:02.85
Angela
Yes, exactly.
41:09.30
jessievalle
We're still here. We're just focusing on other things in our lives. That's okay so take care everyone and we will see you around bye.
41:13.12
Angela
Yeah.
41:22.54
Angela
Bye.
41:25.99
jessievalle
Angela I was waiting for you to say bye I didn't hear it say it again. Why.
41:27.71
Angela
I Said by by.
